Monday September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  Many in the Indigenous community now honour this day as a time to spend with family and thus many events unfold over the weekend.

A word of gratitude for those in our community who hold these events and the purposes of them with hope and longing, in particular Anne Lane and Cheryl Marek.

Locally:

The Township of Scugog is holding an event on Friday, September 27th at 1 pm in the park north of the boat launch.  For more information, including a "rain location" click here:  Event Details Here

Monday September 30th - Noon - 1:30 pm - Church of the Ascension is open.  We start at noon with a small ceremony of smudging and prayer.  We hold the space open for that time for quiet reflection knowing that when we hold space and time open for healing and reconcilation, whenever we hold our hearts open in that manner and direction, our Creator God will be at work within us and around us.
