Late last year the Area Council for Trent-Durham provided each parish with $300 to spend in some way to share the love of God with our community. Many great ideas came our way and we decided to put together a gift bag and thank you for the staff at Westshore Retirement Village as we have a long standing relationship with that community through visits, services and residents who belong to our church.
Angela Wakeford stepped up and took the project in hand, along with help from Lucy Black. Together they baked some cookies and we put hand cream, a Tim Horton's gift card along with a note that some of you helped us write - to show our graitude for their hard and steadfast work.
The whole thing went over really well and I'll let the pictures tell the story.
We also received this note of gratitude from their general director.....
Good morning Rev. Ruthanne Ward.
On behalf of the West Shore Village care team, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you, for coming together to show your appreciation. The kind words and gift bags are very thoughtful. The hand cream is perfect for our over sanitized hands, Tim Hortons gift card is something we all look forward to using and the homemade cookies are delicious!
Thank you for thinking of us,
Tammy Brandenburg

Let's not stop there. If you have an idea of other ways we can share this love of God that we are blessed to know, let us know!
