The wardens and the priest of Ascension Port Perry are calling a Special Vestry to be held on Monday November 16th at 7:30 pm.  This meeting will be held virtually through Zoom.

The purpose of this meeting is to elect a new deputy people's warden.  Occo Van Tijn has volunteered for this position (Thank you Occo!) and we will be voting in this regard.

Due to the many restrictions placed on us because of Covid-19, the Diocese of Toronto, following on legislation and allowances set out by the Province of Ontario for corporations, requires us to hold this meeting virtually.  We are aware that there may be people in the parish who cannot attend this meeting in this manner.  We would encourage any of those people who wish to address this candidate for warden, either in support or with concerns, to reach out to the wardens and/or the priest prior to the Special Vestry.

The following persons, according to Canon 14, are eligible to vote.

Persons sixteen (16) years of age and over who have been members of and worshippers with the congregation for at least three (3) months prior to the meeting of the vestry, who are listed on the Vestry List and who sign the declaration set out in Section 1 and Section 2 of this Canon 14. Unavoidable absence from worship with the congregation through illness or absence from home, shall not prevent a person from being entitled to vote.

To attend the meeting on November 16th, please follow the instructions below.  You may also call in to the meeting if you cannot attend online.  Please note you will be asked to give your vote verbally.  

The meeting will be recorded.  This call is being announced at church on November 1st.
