Sadly, we are not able to bring you a service from Ascension this week on YouTube.  Our music director, Liz Lambert is unwell.  We hold her in our prayers for a speedy recovery.  In the meantime, you will find this week's service below - in the format we used last year.

Service for January 24th, 2021

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be yours this day.

Call to Worship

For God alone our souls wait in silence.

In God alone do our spirits find peace.

For God alone is our rock and our salvation.

In God alone does our faith remain unshaken.

Pour out your hearts before God.

For God is our refuge and our strength.

Put your trust in God.

God’s steadfast love endures forever.

 

 

Collect Prayer

 

Lord of time fulfilled, who was not born an angel but walked the common earth: with those you called by the lakeside may we share your mission to bring good news to all, to let the world know that God is among us; through Jesus Christ, the One who reigns.  Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

 

Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours

now and for ever.

Amen.

 

Doxology and Blessing

 

Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.  Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, forever and ever.  Amen.

 

Go as kingdom people, for the realm of God has come near.  Go as God’s people, for that is who we are.  Go with the blessing of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, this day and always.  Amen.
