Dear Congregation,
These past two years have not allowed us to have the Good Friday Walk in town, but we are hoping that this year, as in previous years, we will be able to go ahead with it, and we are planning as if we will be! Public Health will say yay or nay closer to the time!
In past years we have assembled at 0930 at the gazebo in Palmer Park, where clergy and community have been introduced, and this is what we would do this year.
There are are 7 stations at the downtown churches, where an assigned reader from each church would read a piece of scripture relating to a part of the Passion story, offer a prayer and carry the cross to the next station, and on our way to the next station, the music leader leads us in the singing of a related hymn.
Please let me know if you would like to be be joining us in Palmer Park, on Good Friday April 15th at 0930 and if you would like to read a piece of scripture or offer a prayer when the walk arrives at our church. Anne Lane has kindly agreed to lead the singing of “Were you there”?
I would need to know of your intentions by Sunday April 9th please, and of your intention to join in the walk, because we do need at least 3-4 people and hope for more to share the Good Friday walk experience.
Thank you
Anne Paré

Please note that there will not be a Good Friday service in the church - rather the Ecumenical Walk will be our chance to share the Good Friday worship with other Christians in our community. It is estimated that the walk should reach Church of the Ascension around 9:50 - 9:55 if you would prefer to join in the worship at that point.
