Dear People of Ascension,
I am very much looking forward to returning to work this week and to seeing you next Sunday at church!
For the time being, I will be returning in a modified capacity. My focus will be on Sunday services and the planning and preparation that entails. I will be attending to a few administrative tasks, like meeting with the wardens and the advisory board. I will also be available for critical or emergency pastoral needs.
Most importantly, I want to say thank you - not just in this note, but also when I get to see you face to face. Thank you to each and everyone of you. For showing up at Ascension and “taking care of business”. Most especially, for your continued and heart felt prayers - not only for me but for the church and for one another. As difficult as the pandemic has been, it has also shown us an opportunity for appreciating our community and need for one another in new and deeper ways.
And, of course, a deep expression of gratitude for The Reverend Canon Anthony Jemmott caring for our community in liturgy and prayer. I am profoundly grateful for colleagues, like Anthony, who adjust their schedules and life to help in situations like these. Thank you!!
I look forward to seeing many of you soon, together celebrating the birthday of the church, on Pentecost, Sunday June 5th.
With peace, Ruthanne
