The Ascension community serves people, families and communities locally and globally through social outreach and evangelism. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and loving people through our actions and our presence. We grow and learn as we serve.
Launching in October 2011, the Ascension will be participating and hosting “Soups on Us”, a weekly drop-in lunch for the entire community in Port Perry. You can read the full details here.
The Ascension’s Unextreme Home Makeover completes simple home improvement projects in our community for people who may need a hand. Our Unextreme Home Makeover team are the “go-to” people for North House, an organization providing housing solutions for the Durham region.
The Family Wellness Now program offers support and encouragement for families working towards wellness.
In Africa and Central America, the Ascension builds schools, sponsors children, constructs churches and health centres and comes alongside local Christian workers to minister alongside and learn from them as we grow together.
The Ascension supports our local schools through bursaries and practical help.
The Ascension reaches into Toronto through our support of Matthew House, a home for refugees newly arrived into Canada.
Our Junior Youth Ministry is active in our community with a mandate to spend 50% of their time providing activities and support for youth. This ministry has run things like a mountain biking clinic and an affordable floor hockey league.
